Xbox 360’s Rise

Video games put a new life on the gaming industry. People witnessed the sudden explosion of development in the industry of gaming with the sudden rise of different game consoles that are surely commendable. Even though some may not afford its price, there’s still that wanting and desire for every gamer to have this consoles. One of these consoles that I’ll sure be happy to have is the Xbox 360.
The Xbox 360 is the second coming of the Xbox. It’s a video game console which is developed by and produced for Microsoft and the second console from the Xbox series. During its development the Xbox 360 was known for different names like; Xbox Next; Xenon; Xbox 2; Xbox FS; or NextBox.
On 2003, the making of Xbox 360 started. February 2003, the planning for the software platform of the console which they named Xenon began and was headed by the Microsoft’s Vice President J Allard. There was also an event on that same month wherein they looked for 400 developers to recruit support for the system. That was also the time when Peter Moore, former president of Sega of America, joined Microsoft. On the latter months, the core processor and other parts were slightly modified for the finishing touches.
The Xbox 360 then was officially unveiled on MTV on May 12, 2005, with detailed launch and game information divulged later that month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). And finally, the Xbox 360 was launched in the United States and Canada on November 22, 2005. In Europe it was released on December 2 while December 10 was the date when it was released in Japan. It was later launched to other countries then and reached 36 countries in just a year. And for the record, releasing game consoles to that much country is an achievement.
The Xbox 360 sold much better than its predecessor, and although not the best-selling console of the seventh-generation, it is regarded as the most successful. It competed with other game consoles like the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii. It also features an online service, Xbox Live, which was expanded from its previous iteration on the original Xbox and has received regular updates throughout the console's lifetime. The Xbox 360 was initially in short supply in many regions, including North America and Europe and the earliest versions of the console suffered from a high failure rate that became the reason for Microsoft to release a remodelled version of Xbox 360.
Though not being the best selling game console of that time, Xbox 360 was deemed to be the most influential. It is a game that will surely satisfy your cravings and entertain you like you’ve never been entertained before.
